There's no denying the immense role Jalen Carter played in propelling the Eagles to the conference round. As a crucial part of the Eagles' defense, Carter truly left his mark on the game, stepping up when it mattered the most.
With the game hanging in the balance, and the Eagles facing a critical 3rd-and-2 situation, Carter broke through the line resulting in a nine-yard sack. But Carter wasn't done. On the very next play, he was back in Matthew Stafford’s face to help force an incompletion - an act that proved crucial in the Eagles' victory.
"It’s surreal, man," Carter said. "I was really trying to focus on finishing the game. I had the sack on third down but as you see, I was trying to get everybody together. I knew they had one more play in them. We got a stop and won the game."
Entering that final drive, Carter was the embodiment of calmness. He revealed that his mindset was to stay composed and focused. With Carter leading the charge, the Eagles' defense has proven they are not to be taken lightly.
The Eagles will face the Commanders on January 26th at 3:00PM for the Conference Championship, where the winner will advance to the Super Bowl.
